OUR STORY

2019

A throwaway comment led to the formation of Beestera Goalkeeping. Ryan Brooks-Newton had just finished playing in an indoor game with Matt Needham from Beestera Soccer Training, and mentioned that he would love to have his own goalkeeping academy one day. Matt, James, and Mike from BST had been friends with Ryan for a while, and knew his playing and coaching experience would make this a success. They sat down together the following week to how they could help to make it happen. Within a couple of weeks after that Beestera Goalkeeping was formed, and demand for supplemental goalkeeping sessions increased.

2020

Despite the pandemic, 2020 was a year of opportunity. With the lock-down taking effect in mid March of 2020, in-person operations were put on hold, however, BGK introduced an interactive online training program. In-person operations started back up in June, and BGK began to gain momentum with older clients returning, and newer players looking for sessions after the lockdown.

2021

BGK started team training with the Albany Alleycats, Albany Rush, and Niskayuna Soccer Club. Coach Ryan was invited to New England Revolution and Boston College to observe the first team goalkeepers in action. BGK also entered into an official partnership with Pro GK - a goalkeeping product provider. Specialized Clinics were announced throughout the summer of 2021, with Ryan and Coach Teagan Waddingham leading age specific blocks of evening sessions. At the end of the year, BGK added Greg Monroe to the staff to lead supplemental sessions.

2022

The start of 2022 saw a big increase in the demand for BGK, and to meet that demand, Ben Beaury, Matt Snow, and Mitchell Jordon were brought on board to help both lead and assist supplemental sessions.
